Todd Coleman
Pastor
Todd, hails from southwest Arkansas where he spent his formative years growing up. He was saved in a small-town church at the age of ten. He went on to finish high school in southern Maryland.
From there he joined the U.S. Navy and served for eight years where he learned his skills as an Air Traffic Controller. After leaving the Navy, he worked as a Police Officer for a year before being hired by the FAA. Todd initially began his service for the FAA in New York, but managed to work his way to Huntington, WV. Todd served as a controller, then supervisor, then he was promoted to the position of Air Traffic Manager where he finished his career with the FAA.
Having walked away from his Christian life in his teens, it was in mid 2009 when Todd began regularly attending church again. This also started a reconciliation process for him. During this time Todd almost never missed a church service, was actively seeking the Lord, and seeking to learn as much as he could about Him.
After about a year God met Todd on his front porch one day while he was engaged in peaceful prayer to call him to preach. Todd struggled with the Spirit that day but ultimately the Spirit won.
Still working as an Air Traffic Controller, Todd began a taking regular classes with his pastor who is also a professor for a seminary and Bible college in eastern Ohio. He also began attending Bible colleges at the same time. After having completed a 2-year program through The Crown College of The Bible, Todd was asked to come and teach some of those same courses, and did that for four years. During this time Todd was filling pulpits in his own church as well as for other churches that had no pastor at the time.
Upon retirement from the FAA Todd had already felt God calling him to eastern Kentucky. During this transition Todd visited Burnaugh Baptist Church while seeking a new church home in eastern Kentucky. Todd and his wife Jill ultimately didn’t settle at Burnaugh, but Todd left with a burden for the church, praying for them as he would drive by, or even at the mention of the name. Year by year this burden grew stronger. When the position of Pastor opened up, God increased Todd’s burden for Burnaugh and made it clear that He was calling him to Pastor His church at Burnaugh. On September first, 2024 Burnaugh Baptist Church voted unanimously to take Todd on as their pastor.
